Reflection
Unfortunately my initial understanding of remnants of the past wasn't quite correct. I talked about places that have been transformed and that have become more open to diverse races and cultures. But a more accurate remnant of the past would be something like wigs made to look like Western hair that people of colour felt forced to wear because their hair is different. In the Apartheid regime people of colour were encouraged to rather wear a wig than proudly display their own natural hairstyles.
